Spiritual Wisdom from Almaysha

Young spirits at Home are tutored by the wise Almaysha and his helpers.  It is mainly through questioning and listening to the answers that we gain knowledge. Almaysha is constantly being questioned by his young charges and it is felt that his answers should be shared with all who seek to learn.

Their beauty and simplicity should act as a beacon to us all.

A Spiritual Journey

Almaysha, an Ancient (Lord of many teachings) sat in the garden with his class of young and untried spirits and called to those about to embark on a life away from their spiritual home.

“Tell me, we have sat together much and I have tutored you in the ways of many paths, you should now give me proof that my words have seeded well and let me have your doubts, uncertainties or any thoughts on your forthcoming journey.”

Kartumus stepped forth and said, “Master, how old is Life?”

Almaysha paused and then replied.

“Life is more ancient than any living thing even as beauty was before beautiful was born; and truth was truth before it was spoken; life is joy within our silence, and dreams within our sleep.” Though we may be beaten low, life is high and in our weeping life smiles upon the day and even when we are held in chains life is free.

When we are bitter against life 'tis when we ourselves are bitter, we say in our ignorance life is empty but at these times our souls walk in desolation and the heart is overfed with mindfulness of Self.

Life is deep, high and distant yet she is near if but the breath of your breath touches her, the shadow of your shadow crosses her face, the faintest sound you utter enters her breast.  Life is hidden deep even as your spirit may be veiled and hidden ... yet when life speaks the winds are the words.  When she sings the deaf may hear and when she walks the unsighted see and are filled with wonder.”

Then came forth Sulamabe who said, "Master what of that which men call sleep?"  The reply was this:

"You mature within sleep and may lead a fuller life amongst dreams.  Men will call the night the time of rest yet, in truth, it is the season of searching and finding.  The day gives you knowledge but night unlocks the treasure vaults of life.  The sun gives to all things growing their desire for light, but night may raise you to the stars."

Another said, "What of ugliness?"  Almaysha smiled and said, "What indeed of ugliness!  If ugliness exists, my son, it is but the scales upon your eyes and the wax filling your ears.  Call nothing ugly save the fear of a soul in the presence of its own memories."

Navara then spoke, "Master the peoples of Earth are feared of time, they say it robs their youth and gives nothing in return.  How say you?"

Almaysha pondered and bending took a handful of soil.  "Herein we have a seed ... if your hand were far reaching enough the seed might become a forest, and think the years which turn seeds to forests belong to NOW, all of these years, this NOW.  What are seasons save changing thoughts; Spring the awakening, Summer wherein you find fruitfulness, Autumn the old Spirit within you sings a lullaby to that child still held in your soul and Winter is sleep big with the dreams of all your other seasons."

"My Lord, what of Falsehood and Truth?"

"If Man gives another falsehood, within the content there is a great truth.  Consider, that what this one is declaring is that he has within his being spiritual weakness and has not the strength to give truth.  Yet, my little one, within truth there is no falsehood."

"My Lord, why is it that within the bounds of earth Man will give complaint of the faults of others, yet seems not to see his own?"

Almaysha replied, "When a Man is blind of the Earth it means that he cannot see, yet often can see with more clarity than those who are called sighted.  When a Man points to the faults of his brother yet speaks not of his own, it is because he is spiritually blind.  He gives himself untruth in surveying himself yet deludes none but himself.  Truly for such as these we must have concern."

Almaysha then spoke, "Let us now consider the virtues and non-virtues which you will encounter on your coming journeys.  At Home you know and understand "AMITA", upon the Earth you will learn of Hate; here you have knowledge of Beauty, upon the Earth you will learn of Ugliness.  You have been fostered in the ways of Graciousness and Peace, 'tis sad that you must walk in the paths of Rudeness and Noise.  Above all, here you have been tutored in the wisdom of Truth, alas my young ones you must now be approached by Falsehood.

Spirit will attend upon you on your journey and will attempt to impress upon you the values of the virtues of Home, and at this time I tell you that all virtues have their own light, but the luminosity of Truth is by far the most wondrous, for is it not that Truth has to be sent forth on two paths ... you must give truth to all others but also to your ownself, for perceive that if you cannot give truth to yourself then of a surety you cannot give it to your fellow Man, and to give it to yourself is the hardest lesson of all."

Damrus then spoke, "Please master, if we are so pure and unflawed as young spirits why do we require to go to Earth?"

Almaysha replied, "If you take from the fields a jewel of great beauty and place it in a casket and never let the winds of life play upon it, what does it profit; and it could come to pass that if it were required and taken from the casket it would come to ashes in the hands of the taker.  Perceive, therefore, that if tempered, put to the flame of test, worked on and eventually returned to the casket it would be a jewel of great virtue.  It would be burnished, shining, and the beauty would be the joy of all those who would gaze upon it.

So, my little Damrus, is it with the kiln of life; spirits are tested and tried, have many difficulties and obstacles to overcome; they learn the secret of life, they find and test the strength of their own spiritual content so that finally they may stand in the beauty of age and the joy of their own endeavours."

"My Lord, what of this mortal content which is named 'ego' and why does Man treasure its possession?  Can it be for its beauty or truth?"

Almaysha replied, "I may tell you that ego is Man's appreciation of his own self, when mayhap he sees himself as a meteor blazing across space with his fellow Men standing in astoundment and reverence.  It is for Man to learn that it is better to be merely a spiritual reflection of his Creator, than a meteor of his own self-delusion."

Then uttered Zadara, "Master you have told us much of Eritha which is a place favoured of the Great Unnamed One.  How then may Spirits go forth in beauty and light and yet when reaching this place they are lost?"

Almaysha looked with love towards the pupil and said, "In the beginning all Men came from the Mists and to find themselves to the Mists they must return.  If you would have freedom you must needs seek the Mists to learn of the beginning, and what is there shall live and rise to the greatest heights except it be lost needlessly within the weight of Earth's pressures.

It is the unheard within us that nurses our deepest sorrow; it is the unknown which carves our soul to form and fashion our destiny.  Even so the hand of the Unnamed One is always upon you, and as you wait for Peace until the formless within you takes form he is in the silence and his words are clear.

These are his words as held in the Ashento Tumoras Cao Fragmentus Abodas:

"IN YOUR WANDERINGS, REMEMBER ME AND THOUGH SOMETIMES YOU WILL NOT KNOW FOR WHAT YOU LONG, IT WILL BE FOR MY PEACE AND HOW ELSE CAN IT BE?  MY PEACE IS ALWAYS WITH YOU BUT THE THUNDER OF YOUR EARTHLY SELF SHUTS IT OUT.  GROW INTO SPIRIT AND REMEMBER, FOR IN REMEMBRANCE THERE ARE NO DISTANCES AND ONLY IN OBLIVION IS THERE A GULF THAT NEITHER YOUR VOICE OR EYE CAN BRIDGE.  BETWEEN YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND YOUR UNDERSTANDING, THERE IS A SECRET PATH WHICH YOU MUST DISCOVER BEFORE YOU ARE AT ONE WITH ME AND SO AT ONE WITH YOURSELF.  IF YOU WERE NAUGHT SAVE BODIES THEN MY SPEAKING TO YOU WOULD BE EMPTINESS, EVEN AS DEAD CALLING TO DEAD. THIS IS NOT SO!  ALL THAT IS DEATHLESS IN YOU IS FREE AND CANNOT BE HOUSED OR FETTERED FOR THIS IS MY WILL.  YOU ARE MY BREATH EVEN AS THE WIND THAT SHALL NOT BE CAUGHT OR CAGED.  I LIVE IN YOU AND YOUR LIFE IS MINE AS MINE IS YOURS."

It having come to the end of the time for learning, Almaysha gave them his blessings saying "Have pride but be not prideful; accept love but also accept hate, that in the taking of hate you may relieve the burden of the giver; be at peace with all men but mostly with yourself; give truth, to yourself in the first part, that it may be spread well amongst your fellow men; deny not your brother that he may not deny you and be with God.
